My trip was planned to go and meet Elijah Wood at Giffoni Film Festival
Then we had to catch a bus for Giffoni, which is a little town in a valley, half an hour from Salerno
A view of Giffoni I was glad that in the meanwhile I met Alessandra, a young journalist from Rome who stayed at the same hotel
In Giffoni, we collected our pass and went to the press office, to have the program for the day and to ask for a private interview with Elijah Wood
Sunday morning arrived and Alessandra and I caught the first bus to Giffoni

Mi e’ piaciuto molto sentire la voce romana del giornalista al quale avevano proibito di fare le foto.Era carina! Io penso che sono accordi presi tra l’agente(la bionda eh?)e i responsabili di Giffoni.Mi chiedo come funzioni il rapporto agente attore, chi decide, quali regole, e’ affascinante.Fossi famosa non riuscire a sopportare la presenza di un agente, a parte per il lato economico di cui non capisco nulla.Ma avere qualcuno che caccia via la gente…Comunque Giffoni e’ il tipico paese del Sud delizioso, i bambini io li amo ed Elijah sono sicura che ha fatto bagaglio di questa esperienza.In mezzo ai bimbi che non gliene frega niente e non sanno niente delle regole dello star system, che sono li’ perche’ amano il cinema e il ragazzo che ha fatto Frodo.E’ meraviglioso.Grazie amica mia, mille di queste esperienze.Kiss.() ()

Elijah at Giffoni Film Festival Hi everybody, I’m Melyanna from Rome and I’m a huge fan of Elijah Wood.Last month I’ve been lucky enough to meet him twice: at London Film and Comic Con and at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy
I attended the Giffoni Festival as press (since I started a collaboration with an Italian teen agers magazine), so I had the great chance to have a closer look at Elijah and to ask him a couple of questions (at the press conference and at a private interview).So if you are interested in reading about my experience with this lovely guy, you can find the five parts of my report in my Live Journal, along with a lot of pics and clips which I took myself

Venezia, Roma, Locarno, Giffoni, Napoli, Salerno, Torino, Milano, Aosta sono solo alcune delle città in cui hanno luogo le manifestazioni più di richiamo, ma la lista potrebbe essere ancora molto lunga
Rimanendo in Campania (una delle località dove è più difficile occuparsi di Cinema) abbiamo: Napoli Film Festival, Salerno Film Festival, Ischia film festival, Ischia Global Fest, Giffoni film festival, Festival di Procida, Festival di Capri e poi chissà quanti altri

Talking about Italy he said he was so grateful and honoured to be in Giffoni and that he had never seen an event like that, with so many kids and young people

Then one of the presenters told a special section of the audience (the guys of the Jury of Giffoni) that they had some time to ask questions to Lij

The last question was about the theme of Giffoni Film Festival, which for this year was “Energy”
And since I love symbolic things and I’ve been asked several times before going to London and Giffoni to give Elijah a kiss from some of my flists, I decided to give him this gift, symbolically giving him a kiss from each one of you
Although I am only in the beginning of the complete report (from Pt.1-to Pt.5), I have to confess – I am not able to read this because my contact lenses are floating in tears in my eyes…your experience, your impressions from Giffoni´s meeting Elijah is so moving for me…It must be absolutely great!!!!A.() ()

August, 2006 GiffoniFilmFestival 2005 Agosto 2005 Giffoni film festival: un tuffo nelle emozioni Cinema: dove regna sovrana l’immaginazione
Quale luogo più adatto per accogliere 1500 ragazzi sognanti provenienti da oltre 20 Paesi diversi che portano con loro le proprie tradizioni, la propria cultura e le proprie emozioni? E sì, perché la protagonista indiscussa del 35° Giffoni film festival è stata proprio l’emozione
Il più importante festival internazionale dedicato al cinema per ragazzi, che ha aperto il sipario il 16 luglio scorso per protrarsi lungo tutta la settimana, quest’anno si è dedicato a studiare e conoscere a fondo il motore della vita il cui carburante è proprio l’emozione. Una settimana colma di eventi nella quale il piccolo comune di Giffoni Valle Piana, in provincia di Salerno, è stato colorato dalle magliette dei giurati (verdi per i piccoli “first screens”6-9 anni, gialle per i “kids”9-12 anni, blu per i “free to fly” 12-14 anni e rosse per i “y-gen” 15-19 anni) e ha visto un viavai di giovani, ma non solo, dalla cittadella del cinema
Trenta i lungometraggi e ventotto i cortometraggi in concorso, divisi per categorie, proiettati a rotazione nelle due sale cinematografiche di Giffoni
